As collaboration continues to drive innovation in the mining industry to new heights, the Lively Shop in Ontario, Canada has reached another milestone by working together with the factory control team in Sweden to build a Minetruck MT65 right on Canadian soil.
The 65-tonne loader is tailor-made for large underground mining operations and has built a reputation around significantly increasing productivity while simultaneously harnessing its energy and fuel usage efficiently.
This latest machine built by the talented Canadian team is now the 14th rig that has made its way through the Lively Shop on its path to customers in the region. This particular machine will make its debut on site at Agnico Eagle’s Odyssey Mine in Malartic, Quebec – which will become one of Canada’s largest gold mines and an appropriate home for a truck of this magnitude.
The Lively technicians have honed their expertise by building a variety of machines at their location in Central Ontario, starting with a Minetruck MT42 last summer. Their output has been impressive, and by working collaboratively with their counterparts in Sweden to achieve success, the momentum seems to show no signs of slowing down.
With innovative technology and a work ethic that has productivity trending upwards, both on customer sites and within the walls of Epiroc’s shops, we look forward to more notable achievements ahead – congratulations to everyone involved!
